Accuracy in feed testing: target achieved!

When testing for mycotoxins, the EIA method is marked out by its rapidity; this involves a very simple sample preparation.

In the case of aflatoxins, sample preparation is very easy and involves only a methanol extraction. Methanol extracts from feed samples contains, apart from aflatoxins, other interference molecules that could give less accurate results (matrix effect). This is the main obstacle to face when testing mycotoxins in feed with EIA method. To get out of this problem, Tecna developed EasyPur AFLA (cod. AC010). The kit allows a simple and  fast purification of methanolic extracts from feed samples. Purified sample extracts are then ready to be tested with Celer AFLA to measure aflatoxins. This method is really easy (one-step purification: no elution or instruments required) and fast and is a prefect tool to reduce matrix effect in feed samples. Number of false positive is knocked down.
